With her single and music video, “I’ll Run To You,” out now, we took some time to hear more from Briana Dinsdale. Read below to learn more about Briana Dinsdale, the story behind her single, and what’s to come.

Hi Briana Dinsdale! Let’s start with how did you get your artist name?

My artist name is the same as my birth given name.

What city are you from and where are you based now?

I am born and raised in Brisbane, Australia and still live here.

At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? How did you get started?

I think one of the key points in my life when I decided that I wanted to do this as a career was seeing my first “big” concert, which was Taylor Swift’s “Red” tour. It really inspired me to learn more about what could happen in the future. I was 10 when I saw that show.

Has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining your sound today? If so, how?

My upbringing has definitely played a role in shaping my sound today. I grew up listening to a combination of Country, Classic Rock, and Americana music, and I think my music nowadays is heavily inspired by those genres.

How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?

I would describe my sound as Contemporary Americana Country.

Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?

I love to paint and go thrift shopping — sustainable is best in my opinion.

Who are some of your main musical influences?

Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, and Carrie Underwood are the three biggest influences of mine, but I also heavily admire artists such as Linda Ronstadt, Maren Morris, and The Beatles.

What are some of your future music career goals?

I would love to make songwriting my full-time job, whether that’s writing for myself and touring those songs or writing for other artists as well.

Now onto your release, “I’ll Run To You.” What inspired this song?

Listening to a lot of modern Country music heavily inspired it. Artists such as Thomas Rhett, Morgan Wallen, and Luke Combs.

What is “I’ll Run To You” about in your own words?

When I wrote this song, I was in my very first relationship with a boy, about 16, and at the time, felt like I could go to him for anything, so I created a song expressing those emotions.

How did the music video for “I’ll Run To You” come about? What was your vision for the video?

We wanted it to be simple yet effective, so we used a local venue and local dancer, as well as my band, to bring the vision to life.

What message do you hope fans take away from your music and from “I’ll Run To You?”

I hope people can see that whether it’s a friendship or relationship, you should always be able to rely on that person no matter what.

What’s one of your proudest moments of your music career so far?

I think it would definitely be getting awarded the ISSA (International Singer Songwriter Association) Bronze International Female Emerging Artist of the Year in 2021 when I was only 17. It gave me a lot of hope for my future and inspired me to work even harder.

What would you say are the greatest lessons you’ve learned so far?

As cliché as it may sound, I think it is the act of always being yourself. There were times when I was growing up doing music that I would comply with what everyone else was doing around my age. Eventually, I snapped out of that, and now I am on my own path with my sound, presence, style and overall journey, which I am loving.

What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects that we should be on the lookout for?

I am in the studio again working on some exciting things that I can’t wait to share! Be sure to follow my social media to get updates.
