Meet Filmmaker and Music Artist Ruchi

Pop and R&B aficionado Ruchi started making music when he moved to Toronto, Canada to further his career. Originally from Nigeria, his love of music began when he received his first piano from his mother at the age of five in Abuja. A natural and talented musician, Ruchi continued to forge and follow his musical path as an emerging singer-songwriter. Ruchi’s music is not limited in genre and draws from a variety of influences to create his distinctive sound. From Queen, Michael Jackson, Nina Simone and Ray Charles to the recent likes of Bruno Mars and Kanye West — these different inspirations are weaved seamlessly into his distinctive style. The heavy Afro-beat influences in the singles, “Disaster” and “The Prey,” and the uplifting Gospel arrangement of “New Day” are examples of Ruchi’s use of an array of sounds to convey an emotion that comes from the heart.
