“Melting-Pop” is how Valentina Blú, music artist and producer, often describes her music style; the result of her extensive travels, which she began at a young age. After living in the United States for over 10 years, she has recently relocated to her native Italy. The fusion of electronic sounds and Pop music with elements from the Mediterranean and Caribbean is enhanced by her vocals, seamlessly switching between English, Spanish, and Italian lyrics. In the few months she has been back in Europe, Valentina Blú has been showcasing her talent as a producer, music artist, and rapper on social media, quickly gaining thousands of views on her beats and freestyle videos.

Hi Valentina Blú! Let’s start with how did you get your artist name?

Hello there! My artist name is a combination of my legal name, Valentina, and Blú, a reference to the color blue. I’ve always been drawn to that color, almost enchanted, I’d say. It is also connected to Blues music. I grew up in a small city where there wasn’t much going on most of the year besides one week in the summer when the city would host the biggest European Blues festival. I saw many iconic Blues artists perform and that left an imprint on my life and my
approach to music.

What city are you from and where are you based now?

I was born in Pistoia, Italy and after living in the United States for over 10 years, I’m now back in Italy.

At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? How did you get started?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a musician. I started playing the piano and singing when I was 7 years old. Over time, I began writing my own songs and learning other instruments, which later led me to develop my own music production skills.
